Hi there!

My name is Ebele Iloabachie, and I am a dually licensed Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). My practice is focused on psychiatric care, and I bring with me over two decades of clinical experience. My philosophy is rooted in patient empowerment and collaboration. I believe care should never be one-sided. Patients are the experts on their own lived experiences, and I work alongside them as partners in their mental health journey.

My approach

I practice evidence-based psychiatry, always balancing the latest clinical guidelines with the unique needs and preferences of each patient. To me, the best treatment plans are ones that are not only clinically sound but also personally meaningful to the individual. I strive to create a space where patients feel heard, validated, and engaged in making informed choices about their care. I believe that quality mental health care requires respect, flexibility, and honesty. My role is not to dictate, but to guide and support. I approach care as a conversation, a negotiation, not a command. Gone are the days of paternalistic medicine. Instead, I work with my patients to build a shared understanding of their goals, challenges, and strengths, so we can move forward together.

Expectations for the first session

Your first session with me will be a thorough and thoughtful evaluation. We will discuss your history, current concerns, past treatments, and overall well-being, mental and physical. My goal is to fully understand your story before recommending any interventions, and to begin building a relationship based on trust and collaboration.

My journey to mental healthcare

I began my career as a Family Nurse Practitioner and spent 10 years in primary care. Over time, I saw the disconnect that often exists between physical and mental health care, how patients were treated as fragmented pieces rather than whole people. That realization led me to pursue psychiatry. My mission now is to provide integrated, compassionate mental health care that honors the full complexity of a person’s experience—because physical health and mental health are inseparable, and both deserve attention.
